Wedding date: 10/13/18
My fiance proposed to me in Skaneateles, by the Veteran's Memorial. My grandpa was a war veteran and we lost him in November of 2016. Nick found it perfect to propose to me right there while I was reminiscing about my grandfather. I loved every minute of it and really felt like my grandfather was there with me when it happened.

br>My proposal was funny. My fiance told me to call him to pick up some food after work, so he'd be ready to go when I got there. I waited 10 mins. in the driveway, and when I went in to get him, he was waiting for me on one knee with the ring, and asked me to marry him.

Christmas was coming up and all the neighborhoods were decorated with snow covered lights, as a little girl I've always loved to drive around and look at all the lights. Where we live, there is a seasonal "Lights in the Park" display where you drive around the lake through these magnificent displays of lights. One night, he came home and we picked up dinner and headed out to the display. I had been in such admiration of all the lights that I hadn't noticed his shirt was lit up with "Will You Marry Me" !

After secretly texting and meeting my parents to ask for their blessing, Joe told them he was planning to ask me to marry him in my classroom, during an art show that was going on there. However, Joe was so full of excitement that he just couldn't wait! One night after going out for dinner before the art show, Joe got down on both knees in my bedroom and took out a little black box and popped the question.

Wedding date 5/13/12
The proposal started with a poem leading me on a scavenger hunt to four destinations. Each place I visited had special meaning to me. When I got to each place, my boyfriend had left a gift and another poem. The last poem said it was now time to come home. Then he got down on one knee, read me the most beautiful poem and asked me to marry him!

My fiancé Eric planned an amazing day. We went for a hike up Bald Mountain. After our hike to the top, he set up a picnic, having backpacked everything up himself. After lunch, as I was admiring the view, he got behind me and asked for me to turn around. There he was --- on one knee --- asking me to marry him! I said "yes", and gave him a big hug as he continued to tell me how much he loves me.

My fiance (Ryan) is sort of a reserved person and, although we had talked about marriage, I thought he would do something privately. Well, he shocked me by proposing [last] Christmas, in front of my entire family, by wrapping up my ring inside a scarf I had asked for. I tore through the package and threw on the scarf. The ring box fell on the ground and everyone noticed it but me! Once I did, I started laughing and crying at the same time! I was so happy and excited! It was really wonderful being able to share that moment with him AND my family!

Wedding date: 10/9/04
Jeff proposed out of the blue; he has always been a spur of the moment type. After a week apart, due to business, we were getting ready for bed. He proposed as I was half asleep. At first, I thought he was fooling around, but then I realized he wasn't kidding, so I immediately said yes. The next day we picked out my ring, announced it to everyone, and we are now planning an October 9, 2004 wedding.

My fiancé proposed on St. Patrick's Day in the city of Galway, Ireland. After seeing the parade, we were now trying to find the ferry to the Aran Islands. We kept taking wrong turns and finally pulled into a parking lot to decide what to do next. While sitting there, Brian thanked me for making the trip possible, that without me he wouldn't have half the life he has now because he is such a procrastinator. He then added he wanted to stop one of his procrastinations that day. There it was -- an engagement ring after 8 1/2 years of dating!

My boyfriend asked me to go with him and his family to Colorado for Spring Break. I was excited about the trip for months before we went. The first full day in Colorado, we all went to the very top of the main mountain of Keystone resort. We took several pictures, and while I was posing for our last picture, he got down on his knee and asked me if I would like to be his wife. I was so shocked I didn't even say yes! I said OK! Then he looked at me funny and I said "yes" and jumped up and down. I was shaking from so much excitement that it was then very difficult to ski to the bottom.

Daphne C., Oneida, NY
Wedding date:September, 2004
We had been looking at engagement rings for some time, but I never expected him to propose. On my birthday, he planned a dinner at a nice restaurant, with my parents, his parents and some of our friends, in a private room setting. We had a lovely dinner and then they brought a cake out, sang happy birthday to me and then took the cake back to cut it up into pieces.
When they came back they served me last and on my piece of cake there was a strawberry. The strawberry was upside down and at the top was my ring; one of the ones that I picked out when we had been shopping. My boyfriend got down on one knee and told me that when he first saw me, he knew that I was the one, that he loved me, and that he would like to spend the rest of his life with me. Then the words, "Daphne, will you marry me?" I told him yes right away. My parents told me that they were surprised that I didn't look at them. I couldn't believe that he asked me in front of so many people. We are planning a September, 2004 wedding and are so happy to be together.

My fiance and I love to go see this local band called the Burners UK. At this one performance, the lead singer said that they decided they wanted to bring a couple people on stage to dance with the band. Well the first person he happened to pull up was my fiance, Dan. He made Dan do some funny dancing stuff and then he said "actually Dan is here for another reason...Crystal, where are you?" So I went up on stage and Dan got down on one knee and proposed in front of hundreds of people. It was so awesome! Not only was it romantic, but it was totally unexpected!

My fiance asked me to marry him in the parking lot of a hospital in Syracuse. My Mom had just had surgery to have a cancerous tumor removed, so we were there to visit her. He first asked my Dad's permission in the cafeteria of the hospital. We then went outside to my car where he told me he "had to get something out of the trunk". He got in the car with me and asked me to marry him. He wanted to do it then so we could brighten my Mom's day with our big news!

Sarah M., Manlius, NY
Wedding date: October, 2004
He created a fake invitation to a wine tasting at the Brewster Inn in Cazenovia on a Tuesday night. Instead of going wine tasting, we entered into one of their beautiful rooms which was filled with about 50 roses, each one with a ribbon and note tied with a memory from our relationship -- yellow - friendship memories, white - pure love memories, red - passionate love memories. The last rose had our room number at the Brewster Inn on it -- he knelt down and asked me to be his wife...a complete shocker!! I had even called the Brewster Inn earlier that day to confirm the time of the "wine tasting", but he had planned ahead and told them that I may call and to play along!! Does he know me or what??

We were going out for a night on the town with a group of friends. We were all having a great time with the comedians and when they were finished, the owner of the club came up on stage and mentioned that they like to give people a chance to get into show business. He called my boyfriend (Brandon) up on stage to perform a magic act Brandon had a cylinder which he opened-up and showed the crowd was empty. He then closed it and started pulling out handkerchiefs. In the middle of them was an object dangling. He pulled it off and then said that he knew what that was and got down on his knee. He said that I had made magic in his life and would love it if we could make magic together for the rest of our life together. It was the most romantic thing I had ever seen and the crowd went wild.

I met my future husband in college in Massachusetts, and after graduation moved to North Carolina for veterinary school. On a visit back at Christmas, he took me to the field where we used to picnic. There in the dark, with a million stars in the sky, he asked me if i would marry him, and gave me a beautiful ring-his grandmothers. It was so cold that I was shaking as I said, "Yes!!"

I live in Syracuse, and he lives in Buffalo, so we only see each other every two weeks if we are lucky. We went out for coffee, and he took me to Glen Park in Buffalo. It was really cold as we went through the park, water falls rushing and cottages aglow. All I could think about was hot coffee. When I turned to see where he was, there he was kneeling in a snow bank. "Do you remember that I said I was looking for four things in a future mate: intelligence, sociability, active and from a good family .. well you are all those things and more. You make me strive to be a better person everyday of my life so I couldn't imagine my life without you. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?"

It was July 31,2002 at about 1:00 am when he came home to find me sleeping. As he came to bed, I stirred a bit to find out he had placed a ring on my finger...I instantly woke up and rolled over to kiss him, telling him YES. Later that day as we were going to celebrate, after I got out of work, he was coming to pick me up, he and my son were in a car accident(don't worry everyone is fine now), and both taken to the hospital. I was sitting there with my son who arrived there first, and as he was brought in all I could hear was him asking for me, telling the doctors he wanted up so that he could go celebrate with me...even through a concussion and loss of memory of the accident, he remembered that he proposed to me earlier that morning. He is truly my sweetheart and I will love him forever and a day!

I came and there was Rick standing by the front door. He escorted me to the diningroom for a wonderful dinner with Roses and candles that lit the table. After dinner, we danced to our song and then headed to the livingroom to watch what I thought would be a movie but it was Rick on video talking to me about how he feels and what he believes our future holds for us. When he turned it off he got down on one knee and proposed. I felt my eyes instantly fill up with tears of joy as I shouted YES!

Jason wanted to propose at midnight New Year's Eve, but we ended up falling asleep before the ball dropped. New Year's Day (our 2nd anniversary). We were sitting on the couch with my one year old nephew on his lap and my 2 ½ year old son sitting between us watching Blue's Clues. Jason handed me a present. It was pink fluffy slippers. I actually needed new slippers, but noticed one was stuffed with paper towel. I pulled it and found a tiny box with a gorgeous diamond ring inside. I looked at him and said, "Is this what I think it is?" He said," Yeah.... Will you?" It was so cute, and of course I said yes!

We were out at a place singing karaoke. Once up on the stage, he sang "Stars over Texas" to me, then he called me up on the stage, got down on one knee, and over the microphone, asked me to marry him. I said yes quietly, and he shoved the mic in my face, and said "I can't hear you." I had to say it again, and we came out with a very loud cheering crowd. They were screamin "where's the ring??" He hung his head. He forgot it at the house, he was so nervous!

He surprised me with a trip to NYC, supposedly for dinner and a Radio City Christmas Spectacular show. When we got to Manhattan, he told me he booked us a suite at the Plaza Hotel! What a surprise! The next day, we strolled through Central Park. Against the NYC skyline, he got on one knee and presented me with a diamond ring that I had designed many years ago on a website as my all-time fantasy ring. He found the design and replicated it exactly! That evening we attended the Radio City show...as fiances.

As we returned home from spending Christmas Eve with my family, he asked me to check the dryer. Inside were two roses and a note asking me to wait 1min. 15 sec. (Our first date was Jan. 15.). Upstairs, I found two more roses and another note that read "knock on the door and wait 19.98 seconds" (the year we began dating.) When I opened the door, a path of rose petals illuminated by a hundred candles led to our glistening Christmas tree. He was on one knee with tears in his eyes. Roses were tucked into the tree so that it looked like it was blooming roses, my favorite bottle of wine and was playing the theme song from Titanic (the movie we saw on our first date).

On June 6th, Steve told me he was taking me to dinner. When we arrived, he told the hostess we were checking in. What a surprise! While we were sipping wine by the fireplace in our villa, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He was so nervous he was shaking! He had designed the ring himself - it was gorgeous. We enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and spent the night planning our lives. The morning after brought spa treatments and long massages. He had taken care of every detail: not asking me to marry him in public, he knew exactly the ring for me. He'd even packed my bags, including buying more of a lotion I use so I wouldn't notice mine missing and suspect anything! If he continues to be this thoughtful, I have lots to look forward to!

Our family and friends were in town for my graduation. Ricardo brought in champagne for a toast. He was first and just said, "We are all very proud of you. Congratulations." The toast was a bit dry, but he is very practical and there were lots of people there. After everyone's heartfelt toasts, a friend suggested that he toast again, since his first toast was so weak. He sang "Lady" by Kenny Rogers to me and as the song ended, his friend presented a ring box. He then kneeled and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said YES!

We got engaged 7/8/02 at home. He came home and handed me a big brown paperbag, which had a white momma teddy bear holding a baby teddy bear that was holding a small purple box. While I was opening the bag, he got down on one knee in front of me and said, "We have had many bumps and curves in the road of our relationship this past year. I feel it's made our love for each other never ending." Then he said to me, "Will you do me the honor of spending the rest of my life with me?" While he asked me this question, I opened the little box the bear was holding; inside was a beautiful diamond ring!

The Friday before the Fourth of July, Rob and I went out to the horse race track to have dinner and "play the ponies". We went out side to watch the fireworks and I picked a great spot to sit. Rob insisted we go back to the car so we could put the top down and listen to music while watching the fireworks. As we were sitting there watching the fireworks Rob reached into the back seat and as he brought his hand forward he said, "Will you marry me honey?" I said, "YES!" It was very romantic.

Shawn and I went to NYC to spend time with some friends who live down there. This was the Saturday after Thanksgiving so the city was all decorated for Christmas. We spent the day sight seeing and having a great time. We walked into St. Patrick's Cathedral and we were looking around when Shawn told me to come over to him. He whispered to me "not to scream." That is when he asked me to marry him!! It was so beautiful! It was like we were the only two in the church (but it was full). What a perfect end to a perfect trip!

Wedding Date: August 7, 2004
It was every girl's dream. My prom, The biggest event in my high school life. We met at a Christian summer camp, and had been dating for about nine months. I had the perfect dress, awesome shoes and my hair was to die for. I didn't think the night could get any better. About half way through the night I noticed that my camera was missing. I didn't say anything because I figured that it would turn up sooner or later. When we went out to the dance floor, the DJ's mike was humming. Into the mike, I heard him say "This next song goes out to Jennifer from Sean. Jen, Sean has something to ask you." As I turned around, there was Sean on one knee holding out a beautiful ring. My friend had my camera and took plenty of pictures of the event. The song played was "Hero" by Enreque Iglasius. I cried for what seemed like the rest of the night. Saying yes to Sean was the greatest decision I made; I wouldn't give him up for the world!

It was February 14, and there we were cuddled up, trying not to use the heat so we could save money. His head in my lap, he looked up at me and asked "Will you marry me?" I took two seconds to look at him and answer "yes". There was no ring yet, no elaborate plan. It was the most heartfelt and spontaneous proposal I know of. It felt right for him to ask and he did. Forty-eight days together and I was engaged to the most wonderful man in the world!
