A Few Words About Veils ...WHY A VEIL? Veils are meant to be the final accent to your wedding ensemble; they should never overpower your gown, or your frame size and features.
VEIL LENGTHS: the usual veil treatment is a two-tier fingertip length piece. Two-tiers allows for one (the blusher) veil to be pulled forward over the face for the walk down the aisle. Typical lengths are SHOULDER/FLY AWAY, ELBOW, FINGERTIP, TANGO and CATHEDRAL. The general fingertip veil length is 30" and 36", although we will cut the veil to your specifications. Prices stated are for two-tier veils in the general fingertip length category. There is no extra charge or price reduction to cut shorter lengths. Veils flowing below the back knee line (TANGO and ++) are slightly higher priced, but are great values here nonetheless.
HISTORY OF VEILS: It is an ancient custom for the father of the bride to lift the veil at the altar and kiss the bride "goodbye" .. his daughter as a single woman for the last time!
EDGE FINISHINGS: There are many veil edging finishes available; these are but a few:
1) Pencil edge
2) Rattail edge
3) Ribbon edge in varying widths
4) Embroidered and/or appliqued finishes
5) Cut edges (scallopped or plain cuts)
6) Lace edged (usually extra wide lace done on mantilla-type caps and cathedral length veils.
TRIMS: Veils can be ordered with your choice of any one item to be scattered at random over the veils; sequins, pearls, crystals, glass cut beads, etc. Any combination of items is an extra charge of $15 per item.
